method

My artwork is created on my computer using photographs I have taken. I manipulate the photographs in transparent layers with a method that I call Digital Painting.  The images are glued onto a canvas or wooden support in layers and finished with 3-5 coats of acrylic varnish to protect the piece.

Digitally painted scene is then collaged onto wood or canvas. Finished with 5 coats of beautiful, hand-brushed protective acrylic varnish.

Digital photos are combined, layered, fused, cut and pasted in Photoshop with a method that I call Digital Painting.  The images are then printed, cut and glued onto a canvas or wooden support in more layers and finished with 3-5 coats of acrylic varnish.
Here is an example of what the artwork looks like when it is printed.
Here is what the artwork looks like after it has been glued to the canvas. Several layers of paper have been cut and pasted onto the original image which accentuate certain design aspects of the work. After the varnish is applied the work takes on a rich sateen finish that makes the image shine.
